Johnnylee Alexander is son of Jackoposie Upakah and the late Nee Alexander. He is about 19 years old.
As a young boy he always tried to avoid attending school and therefore his education is very limited. Over the years he has watched his father carve his meticulous and fine ivory and antler sculptures.
These are the major skills that Johnnylee has learned as well some hunting skills. Johnnylee is developing his own recognizable style in his small works of antler and stone, many of which depict hunting scenes, individual hunters, dog teams and Inukshuks. He is still at a developing stage and has a long way to go to reach the talents of his father.
Johnnylee has been living with his older brother David Alexander who also carves.
(Note: David's mother was Nee, and father I believe was Johnny Lee who drowned. Hence the name of Johnnylee.)
Jackoposie is also at present living with David after recuperating from TB after a year's stay in the Yellowknife hospital.
